MIXING

Mixing is arguably one of the most important steps in the recording process when we are making decisions with the material that has been recorded to get it to sound on speakers like we hear it in our heads.

Much of what happens in the mixing process is stylistic, but much of it may as well be hard fast rules that takes both training and practice to learn and do well.

It is possible to mix your own material, that's how we at Eighty One Keys learned. But if you do not have the time, skill, equipment, software, or the care to do it yourself, then get with someone who does. The master will never be very much better than the mix and nothing will ruin a master and turn fans off faster than a bad mix so, get the mix right no matter how you do it.
